Man Threatens to Get a Gun After Failed Car Inspection

An employee at Best Repairs Auto on Riverleigh Avenue in Riverside called 911 to report a harassment on Dec. 11. According to police, a customer got into a dispute at the garage at around 10:30 a.m. because his vehicle was not passing inspection. The customer demanded an inspection sticker be placed on the windshield despite its failing or he was “going home to get a gun.” The employee called police after the irate customer left. The victim wanted the incident documented without any further action at this time. The customer did not return to the garage.

Armed Carjacking Reported in North Babylon

Police are investigating an armed carjacking that occurred in North Babylon last week.

Police say two people were sitting in a 2003 Infiniti in the Sunset Plaza shopping center on Deer Park Avenue when someone came up to the vehicle around 10:30 p.m. last Thursday. The robber displayed a gun and demanded the occupants get out of the vehicle. The robber then fled in the Infiniti, police said.
