Crimes Nearby: Riverhead Man Charged With Attempted Murder

The following arrest information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department or village police and does not indicate a conviction.

Smithtown

  • Kevin Soukup, 22, of Smithtown was arrested Nov. 8 in Smithtown and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle and possession of stolen property. Soukup was driving with a suspended license when he was stopped heading north on Brookside Avenue at 12:23 p.m.
  • Hamed Rezakhan, 27, of Miller Place was arrested Nov. 4 in Smithtown  and charged with first offense DWI. Reports state he was driving a 2010 Honda the wrong way on Bank Street.
  • Jatinder Kumar, 34, of Smithtown was arrested Nov. 4 in Smithtown for the unlawful dealing of alcohol to a child. Jatinder is accused of selling a 22-ounce can of Keystone Ice to a person under the age of 21.

Miller Place-Rocky Point

  • Chimene Teodoro, 41, from Wading River, was arrested on Nov. 11 at about 5:30 p.m. and charged with petty larceny. She allegedly stole various goods from Kohls Department Store in Rocky Point.
  • Steven DeMatteo, 29, from Shirley, was arrested on Nov. 9 at 12:25 a.m. at 572 Route 25A in Mount Sinai and was charged with seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
  • Danielle Raymond, 42, from Rocky Point, was arrested on Nov. 5 at approximately 10:40 a.m. and charged with fourth degree grand larceny: property value greater than $1,000. The incident took place at the New York State Department of Transportation yard in Mastic.

  • Robert Niveyro, 40, of Center Moriches, was arrested Nov. 6 at Stony Brook University Medical Center after a police standoff in which he allegedly barricaded himself in a home in Center Moriches with his two children, ages 5 and 8, after a domestic dispute. He was charged with third degree assault with intent to cause physical injury and second degree obstruction of government administration.
  • Gonkeylah Yerry, 20, of West Shokan, NY, was arrested Nov. 6 at 1:55 a.m. at the intersection of Route 347 and Arrowhead Lane and charged with DWI and aggravated DWI.
  • Ryan Randazzo, 22, of Stony Brook, was arrested in Huntington Nov. 9 at 4:00 p.m. and charged with third degree criminal possession of stolen property greater than $3,000. He was allegedly selling stolen jewelry at a pawn shop.

Riverhead

  • Riverhead Town Police man on charges of second-degree attempted murder, assault and a slew of weapons charges after a shooting on Thursday night led them to the same suspect in the unrelated last week.
  • A grocery store across the street from was robbed at gunpoint by two men with a shotgun on Sunday night, Riverhead Town Police said. The suspects were not apprehended and police are still looking for the alleged robbers, according to a police report of the incident.
