Crimes Nearby: Man Robs Tanger Store, Ties Up Employee -- And Steals Her Car

Riverhead Patch: A female Tanger employee was robbed by a man who forced his way into the store, tied her up, and stole her car, police said.

Riverhead Police said on Wednesday at 9:02 a.m., they responded to the Aldo shoe store, located at 1770 West Main Street, Suite 902, in the Riverhead Tanger Outlet Center.

According to police, the female victim, an employee at Aldo Shoes, reported that an unknown male forced his way into the business while she was opening the front door to the store. The man, police said, placed an unknown object to the back of the employee's head and forcibly removed an undisclosed amount of cash from the store.

The victim was then tied up, police said -- while the subject fled in her 2012 Hyundai Elantra, registration number FRR-4165.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Riverhead Police at 621-727-4500.
