Crimes Nearby: Police Arrest Riverhead Man After 5-Hour Chase

Suffolk County Police Department reported these arrests and incidents.

Three Village

Charles Biener, 42, of East Setauket, was arrested by U.S. Marshals last week in New York in connection with an Oct. 24 incident in which he allegedly assaulted a 16-year-old in Hanover, Pennsylvania, according to the York Daily Record. Biener, who is charged with indecent assault, corruption of minors and unlawful contact with a minor, will be extradicted to Pennsylvania to face the charges.

Robert Wunderlich, 23, of Stony Brook, and James Aigotti, 22, of Lake Grove, were arrested March 23 in Setauket. Both were charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and fifth-degree possession of marijuana. According to police reports, Wunderlich and Aigotti had suboxone and marijuana in their vehicle when they were stopped by police at the corner of Route 25A and Gnarled Hollow Road.

Smithtown

Michael Hayes, 27, of Smithtown, was arrested in Smithtown on March 27 on seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance charges. Reports state Hayes was arrested at 7 p.m. in a 2007 Acura.

Joseph Pertusiello, 22, of Smithtown, was arrested in Smithtown on March 26 on second-degree harassment charges. Reports state Pertusiello punched a male victim in the face in Hauppauge at 4:50 p.m.

Richard Carpenter, 48, of St. James, was arrested on March 27 in St. James on assault three with intent to cause physical injury charges. Reports state Carpenter was arrested at his home for kicking a male victim in his hands.

Mt. Sinai

Chris McGinty, 37, of Mt. Sinai, was arrested March 24 and charged with burglary. He was arrested on Canal Road in Mt. Sinai after allegedly entering Tire City through a side window and stealing unkown property.

Craig Hecht, 44, of Mt. Sinai, was arrested last July and charged with first-degree falsifying business records, second-degree grand larceny and first-degree scheme to defraud.

According to Riverhead Police Det. Tim Hubbard, 19-year-old Tremel Kelly was caught at 3:50 p.m. after a call came into Riverhead station shortly before 10:30 a.m. asking for assistance pursuing a suspect that had fled from Southampton's jurisdiction.

Olimpio Colon, 41, was arrested on disorderly conduct charges on March 30 after police said they saw him on the Long Island Railroad platform highly intoxicated and falling on passengers while waiting for the train. According to reports, he eventually fell asleep on the LIRR platform and restricted the free movement of pedestrians. He was removed, arrested and processed at Riverhead Police headquarters and held due to his state of intoxication.
