Crimes Nearby: Stolen Video Games and Hitting a Car with a Baseball Bat

The following arrest information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department or village police and does not indicate a conviction.

Suffolk County police reported the following arrests between Aug. 10-24:

Smithtown

Joseph Green, 31, of Amityville was arrested Aug. 15 in Smithtown and charged with petty larceny. Green was arrested at the Centereach Mall for the alleged theft of video games. Green was arrested Aug. 13 at the Smithaven Mall for the alleged theft of items from JC Penny.    

Christopher Danielo, 21, of Lake Grove was arrested Aug. 10 in Smithtown and charged with third degree criminal mischief. Danielo was arrested for allegedly hitting a Chevy with a baseball bat at approximately 3:30 a.m.

Andrew Markos, 49, of Dix Hills was arrested Aug. 10 in Smithtown and charged with third degree larceny. Markos was arrested for allegedly holding an excavator in excess of an agreed thirty days.

Hauppauge

Joseph Rhodes, 48, and Steven White, 36, of Greenport, were arrested in Islandia Aug. 14 at 9:35 p.m. on charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance. Police said Rhodes was standing outside of a Walmart, located at 1850 Veterans Memorial Highway, when he was observed holding bags with a power-like substance. White was sitting in a parked 1996 Chevy, speaking with Rhodes when police officers approached. After a field search, police said they found Rhodes in possession of heroin and rock cocaine, and White in possession of heroin.

Three Village

Ivan Medina, 33, of Selden, was arrested Aug. 17 in Setauket and charged with fourth degree grand larceny. Medina was arrested for allegedly making unauthorized cash transactions used towards diesel fuel. Reports indicate the transactions were conducted at 255 Pond Path in Setauket between July 1 at 7 a.m. and Aug. 17 at 4 p.m.

Eric Heagle, 18, of Stony Brook, was arrested Aug. 14 in Setauket and charged with first offense DWI. Heagle crashed a 1999 Jeep Suburban on Old Coach Rd. in Setauket just south of Route 25A at approximately 1:10 a.m. Reports indicate that further investigation determined Heagle was allegedly driving while intoxicated.

Rocky Point

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Seventh Precinct Crime section are offering a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to leading to the arrest of an unkown man caught on camera for stealing a video camera. The man stole the camera from at 8 Broadway in Rocky Point on June 22 and is wanted for petty larceny. Anyone with information can anonymously call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.

Charles Killian, unknown age, of Mt. Sinai was arrested Aug. 13 in Rocky Point and charged with obscene language and gestures. Killian was arrested for alleged misconduct on Route 25A, Miller Place.

Riverhead

A 19-year-old woman from Flanders told police that on Wednesday, August 17 at around 2:30 p.m. a 21-year-old man from Riverhead, her on-again-off-again boyfriend, threatened her by trying to come into her Oak Avenue home uninvited. The woman said she saw the Riverhead man take the license off her car and also scratch its hood. She told police he also punctured her tire and told her “If you have me arrested, I’ll put you in the hospital.” Police are investigating.

A 41-year-old woman from Flanders told police that someone stole a $400 television and DirecTV cable box from her garage on Flanders Road in Flanders sometime on Sunday at around 1:30 a.m. She added that she noticed an additional $500 missing from her car.
