A head-on collision on Monday evening in Mt. Sinai at Echo Avenue and Route 25A sent three people to the hospital, one in critical condition.
According to police, the call to 911 about the two-car accident came in at about 9:40 p.m. One vehicle was driving east on 25A turning onto Echo Avenue while the other car was heading west from Echo Avenue making a right turn onto Route 25A when they hit.
Port Jefferson Ambulance along with Mount Sinai Fire Department responded to the scene with a second ambulance that came from Miller Place Fire Department.
According to the Mount Sinai Fire Department, three people were taken to Mather Hospital with injuries. As of Tuesday morning, one of the three accident victims was still in critical condition with head trauma and the other two were “doing better.”
