Incident Report: Catalytic Converter Theft, House Party Fight

The Suffolk County Police Department recently responded to reports of theft, assault and criminal mischief in the area.

GRAND LARCENY

A female employee of BOCES at the Spring Street school in Port Jefferson reported May 13 that someone stole the catalytic converter from her 2006 Toyota Sequoia, which was parked in the school parking lot. The incident occurred sometime between 8:30 a.m. and 3:20 p.m.

ASSAULT & CRIMINAL MISCHIEF

Police responded to two separate incidents at a house party shortly before midnight on May 15 in Port Jefferson Station. In one incident, a teenage male was punched in the face, but refused medical attention. In another incident, four men arguing at the party damaged furniture in the house and one was punched in the face during a fight. No arrests were made.

BURGLARY

A resident of Canal Road in Mt. Sinai reported May 16 at approximately 5 p.m. that someone entered the house through a basement door and stole jewelry and cash.

A resident of Barnsley Crescent in Mt. Sinai reported May 15 that someone entered the house through the boiler vent and stole jewelry, an iPod, cash, a cellphone and lottery tickets.
