Incident Report: Man Hospitalized After Attack on Main Street

Reported incidents in Port Jefferson, Port Jefferson Station, and Mt. Sinai.

On Jan. 21 at about 10 a.m. someone damaged a car parked in the road on Linda Street in Port Jefferson Station. The owner told police that several cars in the area had also been damaged that day.

A man was on Main Street in Port Jefferson when he was jumped by a group of men who hit him in face and knocked him to the ground. The man was taken to Brookhaven Hospital where he as treated for a fractured nose and fractured knee. The incident occurred on Jan. 26 at about 3 a.m.

At about 5 a.m. on Jan. 26, a vehicle that was doing donuts in the overflow parking lot across Belle Terre Road from St. Charles Hospital damaged landscaping and new seeding. The vehicle also struck a curb causing damage to passenger side tires and rims.

On Route 112 in Port Jefferson on Jan. 26 at about 11 p.m., an unidentified man punched someone in the face. No injuries were reported and the complainant refused medical attention.
