Incident Report: Man Slashed on Chin, Bank of America Door Broken

Police report of incidents in Port Jefferson and Port Jefferson Station.

The front door of the Bank of America building on Route 112 in Port Jefferson Station was broken. The incident happened sometime between 5 p.m. on Sept. 5 to 8:30 a.m. on Sept. 6.

Someone went into a home on Main Street in Port Jefferson through an unlocked door and took jewelry and cash. The incident occurred between 8:30 a.m. and Noon on Sept. 6.

Police were called on Sept. 6 at about 1 p.m. because two women were fighting in the parking lot in front of Bagel-Deli Gourmet on Route 112 in Port Jefferson Station.

A man was on the corner of Main Street and Arden Place in Port Jefferson on Sept. 8 when another man assaulted him with a blade and slashed his chin at about 3:30 a.m. The injured man, who claims did not have a dispute with the person who cut him, was taken to Stony Brook Hospital for treatment. No arrests have been made.

On Sept. 13 at about 3:15 a.m. someone at La Paz on Main Street in Port Jefferson got into a fight with another person. The people involved in the fight were allegedly drunk at the time. There were no charges filed and no one was taken to the hospital.

A woman said that a purse was stolen on Sept. 15 at about 1:30 p.m. from a residence on Route 112 in Port Jefferson Station by a man who also lives in the home.

A man punched a woman in the face while they were arguing in the parking lot of the 7-Eleven on Route 112 in Port Jefferson Station on Sept. 15 at about 3:30 p.m. The pair had a fight over some property that was allegedly taken earlier in the day. The man fled on a bicycle. The woman refused treatment.

Good thinking Mel. Very sad of what has become of up town. It used to be a place where you can shop and take the train without worry.
