Incident Report: Vandals Damage Several Cars Last Week

Suffolk County police responded to the following incidents between June 22 and June 28.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF

• A resident of Granada Circle in Mt. Sinai reported June 28 that someone threw an egg at a truck parked at the house at approximately 10:30 p.m. on June 27. The vehicle, a 2008 Jeep Wrangler, sustained paint damage.

• A resident of Kennedy Road in Port Jefferson Station reported that someone smashed the rear window and flattened the tires on his 1998 Chevrolet that was parked in his driveway. The incident happened sometime between 9:30 p.m. on June 26 and 7:30 a.m. on June 27.

• Police responded to a dispute between neighbors on Rita Drive in Mt. Sinai on June 25. Police said the argument stemmed from damage to a fence that happened sometime between 9 a.m. on June 22 and 8:30 p.m. on June 25.  

• A resident of N. Winston Drive in Port Jefferson reported that someone smashed the rear windshield on a 2005 Toyota that was parked in the street sometime between midnight and 2:40 a.m. on June 23.

• A resident of Jefferson Boulevard in Port Jefferson Station reported June 23 that someone damaged a mirror on a 2001 Mercury parked in the street. The incident happened sometime between midnight and 6 a.m.

BURGLARY

• A resident of Shelldrake Avenue in Port Jefferson reported that someone broke into the house through a side door and stole jewelry sometime between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. on June 26.
