Cops: Mount Sinai Man Stabbed Landlord

Police are still investigating after a man was stabbed in the neck with an ice pick at a home on Chestnut Street in Mount Sinai.

Police on Sunday arrested a Mount Sinai man who allegedly stabbed his landlord in the neck with an ice pick after a heated dispute on Saturday night.

Suffolk County Police charged Ulesses Andrade, 50, of 53 Chestnut Street with second degree assault and 4th degree criminal possession of a weapon after they said he stabbed Joseph Berendowski, 24, at 6:35 p.m. in Mount Sinai.

Andrade fled the scene, prompting police to use K-9 units and call in additional back-to help search the area. Andrade was later found.

Berendowski was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
