A Manorville man died Monday afternoon in a four-car crash on Nesconset Highway in Port Jefferson Station.
Suffolk police said Leonard Sloan, 59, of Manorville, lost control of his vehicle, which crossed over into oncoming traffic and struck three other cars that were waiting in the eastbound turning lane to turn left onto Davis Ave.
Police said Sloan, a driving instructor who was driving a 2011 Chevrolet Malibu belonging to Fitzgerald's Driving School of North Babylon, may have suffered from a medical event prior to the crash. Terryville Rescue transported Sloan to St. Charles Hospital in Port Jefferson, where he was pronounced dead.
The accident happened shortly before 1 p.m. Monday. According to police, none of the other drivers were injured.
