UPDATE: Port Jefferson Station Man Injured in Motorcycle Crash on Route 112

Driver sent to hospital after crash on Route 112 Monday night.

A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a collision on Route 112 in Port Jefferson Station late Monday night.

Suffolk County Police Sixth Squad detectives are investigating the crash, which injured Matthew Bock, 21, of Port Jefferson Station.

According to police, Bock was driving a 2007 Yamaha southbound on Route 112 when he collided with a 2011 Toyota Camry, driven by Anthony Tufariello, 66, who was attempting to make a left turn onto Sagamore Hills Drive at 9:15 p.m.

Bock is being treated for serious injuries at Stony Brook University Hospital. Tufariello, of Copiague, was not injured but was ticketed for driving with an expired registration. Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks and the investigation is continuing.
