Mt. Sinai Attorney Indicted for Mortgage Fraud, Arraignment Tuesday

Arrested last Summer, attorney will be arraigned in Riverhead Tuesday.

After being arrested last summer on multiple felony charges related to an ongoing mortgage fraud investigation, a Mount Sinai real estate attorney will be arraigned in Riverhead Tuesday on a grand jury indictment.

Craig Hecht, 44, of Mt. Sinai, was arrested last July and charged with first-degree falsifying business records, second-degree grand larceny and first-degree scheme to defraud.

“The defendant is alleged to have schemed to obtain mortgage loan proceeds using fraudulent paperwork”, Suffolk County District Attorney Thomas Spota said.

Judge Mark Cohen will unseal the indictment, with calendar call set for 9:30 am.

I have plenty of falsified mortgage documents by Craig A. Hecht, for Greenpoint Mortgage Funding. I hope this guy gets 100 years for frauding hardworking homeowners in Westchester County, New York and leaving them with shady paperwork. He was one of the scammers that ruined the real estate industry with their little ponzi scheme on paper. He's a crumb, a greedy little crumb, and I can't wait to see him on America Greed, as he's sitting in prison with Bernie Madoff! Barbara Ricci, Publisher of The Westchester News

What happened to his case? I love to see him in Jail and have them revoke his license by Bar association.
