The trip is being coordinated through the organization www.596acres.org, whose website contains a list of needed supplies. A special request is made for donations of gasoline containers and anyone who can legally transport gas.

Cash donations are also being accepted.

Donations should be dropped off in the lobby of Police Headquarters at 1 Monroe St., corner of South Main and Monroe streets in South Norwalk.

If you are looking to donate, please see www.596acres.org. Under "News" you will find a list of current needs. Please only donate items from that list. It is actually unhelpful to donate other goods that only take up volunteers time to sort, or valuable donation space. Thank you so much!
