Updated: Pedestrian Hit by Car on Route 112

Victim in serious condition after Medford crash Thursday evening, police say.

A pedestrian was struck by a car on Route 112 in Medford Thursday evening, police said.

PL Jean-Baptiste, 30 of Hempstead, was hit by 2008 Dodge Charger, which was headed northbound on Route 112, at 5:52 p.m. about a half mile south of Commercial Boulevard, police said. 

He was transported to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center, where he is listed in serious condition. 

The driver of the Charger, Concetta Cullin, of Kings Park, was not injured. 

The investigation is continuing and anyone who may have witnessed the incident is asked to contact the Sixth Squad detectives at (631) 854-8652.

Thoughts and prayers go out to the victim and his family. I was one of the first people who stopped to come to his aide. My minds been on him all day, hoping that he makes it. Thanks to all the other people who stopped as well <3

Michelle h, i am the victims sister. PL continues to be in serious condition. The surgeons, nurses and doctors are doing a great job to help him. They are patient with us as we try to understand the complexities of the injuries and the obstacles they are facing. My family and I want to thank you and anyone else who stayed to help him.
