Police Arrest Man in Connection to Port Jefferson Stabbing

After a fight n front of McDonalds on West Broadway in August, one man was left with five stab wounds and another fled the scene.

Earlier this month, a Port Jefferson Station man was arrested in connection with the stabbing of another man in Port Jefferson in August. James Postiglione, 20, was arrested in Selden on Nov. 4 and charged with assault with the intent to cause physical injury with a weapon, a felony.

At about 2:46 a.m. on Aug. 4 an altercation in front of McDonalds on West Broadway led to one man being stabbed by someone who fled the scene. The injured person – whose name was not released – was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. He received stitches for five stab wounds in the stomach and legs, according to police.

Postiglione was in Suffolk County Court in Central Islip on Nov. 2. He retained a private attorney. An order of protection as issue and Postiglione was released on personal recognizance. He is due back in court again on Nov. 19.
