Police: Nesconset Man Arrested for Numerous Armed Robberies

Joseph Botti, 27, is arrested Sunday after he robbed four businesses and burglarized a home, police say.

A Nesconset man was arrested Sunday and charged with committing several armed robberies in the area over the past two weeks. 

Joseph Botti, 27, who police say also burglarized a Nesconset home, was arrested on Middle Avenue in Holtsville. 

Botti is charged with robbing the following businesses:

  • Ralph’s Italian Ices, located at 221 Smithtown Boulevard in Nesconset, on Dec. 9
  • Citgo, located at 545 North Country Road in St. James, on Dec. 14
  • Party Hardy, located at 145 Smithtown Boulevard in Nesconset, on Dec. 16
  • Game Stop, located at 117 Alexander Ave. in Lake Grove, on Dec. 19
Botti is charged with three counts of second degree robbery and one count of third degree robbery. He also faces a second degree burglary charge after police say he broke into a home on Truval Lane in Nesconset on Dec. 21.  

Botti is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Monday.
