Police: Man Headbutts Officer Breaking Up Fight on Main Street

Also, stolen gun found on Port Jeff Station man during arrest.

-Police said a Port Jefferson Station man had a stolen semi-automatic handgun on him when he was arrested for loitering last week. 

According to police, Mathew Lanzaro, 20, was on Dylan Avenue in Port Jefferson Station, with the intent to sell drugs on Sept. 20. Police arrested Lanzaro and found that he had a stolen, semi-automatic 22-caliber handgun on him. Police then charged Lanzaro with fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a misdemeanor and fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, a felony.

-A fight between two men on Main Street in Port Jefferson ended with a police officer being headbutted.

Police said a 27 year-old Mt. Sinai man was part of a fight that happened on Arden Place and Main when a nearby officer attempted to break it up. Police said the man then head butted the officer. He was arrested and charged with misdemeanor assault.

-A Port Jefferson Station man was charged with driving while intoxicated after police said he failed to signal while turning.

Police said Rody Marmol, 37, was driving a 2007 Mercedes on Rt. 347 in Port Jefferson Station on Sept. 13 when he was pulled over. Marmol who reportedly has a prior DWI conviction in the past 10 years was charged with felony driving while intoxicated.
