Port Jeff Station Cop Honored For Bravery, Saving Lives

Patrick Riedel, of Port Jefferson Station, was given a commendation along with another MTA officer for rescuing three people from a burning apartment.

An MTA police officer from Port Jefferson Station received a commendation along with another officer from Ridge for bravery when they saved three people, including a 5-year old boy, from a burning apartment in Westbury last month, according to a story in Newsday.

MTA chairman Joseph Lhota honored both Patrick Riedel, 32, of Port Jefferson Station, and Kenneth Wilson, 42, of Ridge, for "their bravery, their service and for a job well-done" the paper reported.
