Port Jefferson Station Man Charged with Burglary

The following arrest information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

• Michael Faitao, 24, of Port Jefferson Station, was arrested July 16 and charged with second-degree burglary, a felony. Police said he entered a home on Champlain Street in Port Jefferson Station and stole property on July 15 at around 2 p.m. Faitao was arrested and arraigned the following day, posted $50,000 bail via bond, and is due back in court on Sept. 19.

• Elben Melendez, 31, of Patchogue, was arrested July 17 in Port Jefferson Station and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor. Police said he crossed over the solid yellow line multiple times while driving south on Route 112 near Central Avenue, and said he was intoxicated at the time.
