Port Jefferson Station Man Dies in Early Morning Car Crash

Ramon Genao, of Port Jefferson Station, died shortly after being taken to Stony Brook Hospital in serious condition.

Suffolk County Police report that a Port Jefferson Station man was killed in a car accident at the intersection of Old Town Road and North Ocean Avenue in Coram at about 5:44 a.m. on Friday.

Ramon Genao, 37, of Port Jefferson Station, was a passenger in a 2011 Nissan heading east on Old Town Road when Michelle Gass, 22, of Coram, driving a 2012 Ford heading north on North Ocean Avenue hit Genao's car in the intersection.

The driver of the Nissan, Hector Marmolm, 18, of Port Jefferson Station, and Genao were taken to in serious condition. Police say that that Genao was pronounced dead soon after arrival at the hospital.

Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks and the investigation is continuing. Detectives from the Sixth Precinct are asking anyone with information about the crash call (631) 852-8652. All calls will remain confidential.
