Report: Painkiller Drug Doc From Port Jeff Station Arrested

Frank Telang charged with illegally prescribing painkillers.

A doctor whose Port Jefferson Station office was closed by Federal agents on Dec. 7, was arrested on Wednesday and charged with illegally prescribing painkillers to patients some who paid cash for drugs like oxycodone, according to a report in Newsday.

"Frank Telang, 56, who wrote dozens of articles on drug use for the National Institutes of Health and operates Integrative Neurology at 1174 Rte. 112, was nabbed early Wednesday morning by agents of the Drug Enforcement Administration and arraigned in federal District Court in Central Islip," the paper reported.
