Road Rage Incidents, Yacht Club Theft Reported in Port Jefferson Area

The Suffolk County Police Department responded to the following incidents between Aug. 4 and Aug. 10.

• Two drivers stopped on County Road 83 in Mt. Sinai following a road rage incident on Aug. 7 at 12:45 p.m. One of the drivers allegedly stole a wallet containing credit cards from the other vehicle, then fled in his car. The victim followed until the fleeing driver threw the wallet out of the window of the car; it is unclear whether the contents of the wallet were still intact after it was thrown out of the window.

• Two men were involved in a road rage incident on Aug. 8 at 7 p.m. on Jayne Boulevard in Port Jefferson Station. One man broke the front passenger side door window of the other's car, but no arrests were made as police said the two men decided to work out damages between themselves.

• A motor was reported stolen from an inflatable raft at Setauket Yacht Club in Port Jefferson on Aug. 4. The motor, a Tohatsu 9.8-horsepower engine, was valued at around $2,000. The theft is thought to have taken place between 6 p.m. on July 28 and 10 a.m. on Aug. 4.

• The owner of a 2007 Mazda on Pinehurst Drive in Mt. Sinai reported Aug. 10 that someone damaged the window of the rear passenger side door. The incident is thought to have occurred sometime between Aug. 6 at 11 p.m. and Aug. 7 at 10 a.m.

• Suffolk police responded to a burglary on Aug. 4 on Harborview Avenue in Port Jefferson Station in which someone entered the home through an unlocked door and stole a laptop computer sometime between 11:30 a.m. and 3 p.m.
