SCARY: Pimp in Local Prostitution Ring Outlines Rules of the Game

An alleged mastermind of the ring that ran through places including Port Jefferson Station's American Hotel shared a note with his accomplice explaining how to manage prostitutes.

While the text of his note may seem like something out of a HBO drama, the Suffolk County District Attorney on Tuesday said a harrowing screed written by an alleged drug dealer and pimp illustrates the type of criminal business that was being run right under the noses of locals in the community.

District Attorney Thomas Spota presented the note, titled "Rules 2 Da Game of Hoez!!!" allegedly delivered by Steven McDaniel, 29, as instructions to accomplice Sandra Russell, 26, on how to manage the prostitutes in their operation. The note was seized as part of Monday's massive bust of the organization, which ran a heroin and prostitution ring from Bronx to Brookhaven in places in Coram, Centereach, Medford as well as the American Hotel and Giunta's Meat Farms grocery story in Port Jefferson Station.

While the note's grammar and tone may strike some as laughable, the message is anything but, reducing the prostitutes to products whose "mind's, body's and soul's" are things to be owned.

Another rule advises that the pimp should "make them understand that you don't need them they need you."

For the full list, see the PDF attached to this article.

Spota said the major job of running the prostitution ring fell to Russell, and that the letter was advice from McDaniels to his associate.

"Defendant Russell was a master manipulator of these young women who, in exchange for their prostitution services, she provided housing, clothing, food, cell phones and what they needed most – heroin,” Spota said.

McDaniels, of Coram, was charged with one count of criminal sale of a controlled substance in the third degree, one count of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree and one count of conspiracy in the second degree.

Since living in this area for the past year, nothing is surprising me anymore. A weekly occurrence that relates to drugs, violence, muggings, homeless, drunks and prostitution. The DEAD BODYfound behind Meat Farms around 6 months or so ago. Thanks to the SCP for busting this ring! But a note, there's more work to be done around PJS. I'm sure a lot more underground crime going.

I agree with you ReeNee & Sue. My friend was assaulted and robbed in upper port Sunday night. For some reason his story didn't make the news. However, it is just another example of how these crimes are happening so often in Port Jeff. By the way, the cops know who the assailants are in my friend's case (they are known criminals in the area). But sadly, I honestly don't think the OVERPAID Suffolk County Cops are working too hard to help my friend. Perhaps they are too busy patting themselves on the back for this prostitution/heroin bust? Meanwhile people are being robbed and assaulted almost every day in Port Jeff. You just don’t hear about every assault/robbery. It's absolutely disgusting. So, I agree that there is A LOT more work to be done to clean up Port Jeff. I grew up in the area but moved years ago. It's such a shame how it's changed for the worse. And, it's also a shame that one of the highest paid police depts. in our country isn't doing more to go after this scum that has invaded a once charming seaport town.
