Spate of Tire Slashings in Port Jefferson

Three separate reports to police of tires slashed or punctured n February.

Three seperate residents in Port Jefferson have reported having their tires slashed or punctured in the last few weeks.

  • At 9 p.m. on Feb. 25 someone reported to police that three tires on his car were punctured while it was parked in the street on Soundview Drive in Port Jefferson.
  • A person on Old Homestead Road in Port Jefferson called police at about 6 p.m. on Feb. 26 because two tires on the driver’s side of his car were slashed.
  • Police report that a resident on Belle Terre Road in Port Jefferson had three tires slashed on his vehicle on Feb. 29. The two rear tires and the front driver’s side tire were all slashed while the car was parked in the driveway of the home.

"At this time it is under investigation whether or not these incidents are connected," said a police spokesperson.
