Supervisor Declares State of Emergency In Brookhaven

Residents are asked to stay off the roads.

Supervisor Ed Romaine declared a state of emergency for Brookhaven Town on Friday effective at 6:30 p.m. due to the fierce winter blizzard blanketing the area.

The state of emergency is meant to remind residents that emergency vehicles should be the only vehicles on town roadways to permit town snow plows to pass through; driving is extremely dangerous.

Residents are reminded to stay away from all downed wires and await the proper response should they encounter any on the road.
