UPDATE: Two Hospitalized in Three Car Crash on 25A in Mt. Sinai

Three cars involved in accident that held up traffic on 25A.

Three cars were involved in an accident that held up traffic on the westbound lane of 25A in Mt. Sinai on Friday afternoon. Mt. Sinai Fire Department, Port Jefferson Ambulance and Suffolk Police responded to crash.

Mt. Sinai Fire Department reached out to Patch on Twitter with more details.

"From what we could gather with Port Jefferson Volunteer Abulance Company, it seems it was a distracted driver causing the first hit, which then caused the secondary accident, total of 3 cars," they said.

They were not sure which driver was at fault.

Two people involved in the accident were taken to , according to the Mt. Sinai Fire Department. One with suspected whiplash, the other with an injured arm. Passengers in the third car did not need medical attention.
