Tires Slashed in Port Jeff Station
Residents along Superior Street in Port Jefferson Station awoke to find tires slashed on eight cars this morning.
Eight cars on Superior Street, between Roe Avenue and Squires Avenue, had tires slashed late last night. The victims whose cars were parked outside of their homes on the street each had two tires slashed. While most of the homeowners who had their car tires slashed also had cars in the driveway, those in the driveway were unharmed.
"As I was pulling out of the driveway with my mom, I took a quick look at my car and noticed my two tires facing the street were slashed," said Rachael Suydam, a resident who fell victim to the tire slashing. "Unfortunately I had to go somewhere so I won't get to call the cops until I get home."
In addition to the tire slashing, another resident who did not want to be named said other damage was done.

"At the end of the block they tied stuff to the windshield wipers of another person's car, put an orange cone on top of it and a tarp over it," the resident said.
Residents on the street did not have any clue as to who would do something like this so close to the holiday season.

"Luckily for me, mine and my husband's car were both parked in the driveway, but my daughter did fall victim to the slashing," said Robin Reynolds, a resident living on the street for more than 12 years. "It really rubs me the wrong way to see people do something like this when this should be the season of giving."
