Tool Thefts, Car Damage Reported in Port Jefferson Station

The Suffolk County Police Department responded to the following incidents between July 1 and July 5.

GRAND LARCENY

• Commercial tools were reported stolen from a 2008 Ford truck parked at Precision Lawn Irrigation on Route 112 in Port Jefferson Station. The theft occurred sometime between 5 p.m. on July 5 and 7 a.m. on July 6.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF

• A resident of Forest Avenue in Port Jefferson Station discovered some damage to the front of a home on July 1: someone had knocked over a basketball net and drove onto the lawn, damaging a sprinkler system. The incident occurred sometime between 8:30 p.m. on June 28 and 7 p.m. on July 1.

• The rear window of a 2009 Dodge sedan was damaged while parked in the lot at Port Jefferson Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram in Port Jefferson Station. The incident happened sometime between noon on July 4 and 7 a.m. on July 5. It is unclear whether the car was being offered for sale at the time of the incident.

• A resident of Grove Street in Port Jefferson Station reported July 2 that two tires were slashed on a 1987 Mercury Cougar that was parked in the driveway. The incident occurred sometime between 9 p.m. on July 2 and 12:30 p.m. on July 3.
