Cannons Booming Over Port Jefferson
Village says during boater's festival canons will blast in the village.
To celebrate the Port Jefferson Maritime Boater's Fesitval over the weekend, pirates will once again invade the village. During the show they will set off canon that will be quite loud.
"Please be advised that the pirates will be 'booming' their canons on Saturday and Sunday," reads an alert on the Port Jefferson Village official website.
The canons will burst in the air at Noon, 12:30, 2:30 and 4 p.m. from Harborfront Park, according to the village.

"The hospitals, police, ferry, neighboring communities and neighboring nursing homes have been advised, so no one will be alarmed as it is quite loud," the alert says.
