Civic Announces Meet the Candidates Night in Port Jefferson Station

Port Jefferson Station/Terryville Civic Association hosts candidates at Comsewogue Public Library.

On Oct. 23 residents will be able to come out to hear from candidates running for local offices. The Port Jefferson Station/Terryville Civic Association is hosting a meet the candidate night at 7 p.m. in the Comsewogue Public Library.

In the race for Brookhaven Town Supervisor to replace Mark Lesko who announced that he is stepping down from the post this summer the Democrats have put Brian Beedenbender up to face Republican Ed Romaine.

Earlier this month, the two candidates for supervisor met at a public forum for the first time since beginning their campaigns at a "Meet the Candidates" event hosted by the Civic Association of the Setaukets and Stony Brook.

Challenger Deborah Mckee is running on the Republican ticket against incumbent Democrat Steve Englebright for the New York State Assembly's 4th District seat. Both are scheduled to be at the civic meeting as well.

In a statement on its website the civic thanked the candidates for agreeing to come out to the meeting.

"We appreciate all of the candidates for taking time out of their very busy schedules to introduce themselves to the residents of our community," the civic said.

The Port Jefferson Station/Terryville Civic Association's Meet the Candidates Night will be at Comsewogue Public Library on Oct. 23. during the regular monthly meeting at 7 p.m.
