Event Spotlight: Food Drive Held at Legis. Anker's Office

To provide assistance to the more than 300,000 families in need on Long Island, Legis. Sarah Anker has partnered with Long Island Cares in support of their Annual Long Island Cares Food Drive.

“Long Island Cares has successfully distributed more than 2.3 million pounds food, household and personal items to those affected by Superstorm Sandy,” Anker said. “Their relief efforts continue, as well as their ongoing mission to end hunger on Long Island. As a community, we must join together and donate generously to our neighbors in need.”

In addition to non-perishable food items, there is a number of items urgently needed post-Sandy: household cleaning supplies, personal care items, diapers, paper goods, pet food and more.

All donations can be dropped off from March 4 through March 28 at Anker's office at 620 Route 25A, Suite B in Mount Sinai.
