Gas Purging at LIPA Plant on Sunday
Purging will be a part of ongoing maintenance.
The village issued an alert that the LIPA Plant will be purging the gas piping entering the power plant on Sunday morning in support of on going maintenance.
"The volume of gas to be purged is small and should be undetectable by our residential neighbors," the alert says.
The Port Jefferson Fire Department was notified of the purging.
