More State Aid Delivered for Local Libraries

Sen. LaValle says local libraries will receive additional tax relief from the state.

State Senator Kenneth P. LaValle, R-Port Jefferson, announced Tuesday that Port Jefferson area libraries have been awarded additional state aid — on top of the typical state aid formula.

LaValle said the cash will provide tax rate stabilization and relief for taxpayers. The aid to local libraries is modest with and getting $2,200 each.

Other areas saw more funding. In Southampton, was more significant than in the Port Jefferson area.
