Port Jefferson Village Recognized for 50th Anniversary of Incorporation

Village honored with proclamation for 50th anniversary of incorporation.

Brookhaven Supervisor Ed Romaine recently presented a proclamation to the Port Jefferson Mayor Margot Garant and the Board of Trustees to mark the 50th Anniversary of the incorporation of the village.

“Port Jefferson has a long and rich history, and its residents have made numerous contributions to the Town of Brookhaven since the area was first settled in 1655,” Romaine said. “With a local governmentcreated on April 22, 1963, Port Jefferson today continues to be a major center in our Town, and a great partner in serving the needs of our residents, business community and tourists.”
