Port Jefferson Village Wants Covenant on Six Acres at Highlands

Village is looking into a covenant on six acres of property.

Port Jefferson Village is looking to put a restrictive covenant on six acres of undeveloped land near the Highlands at Port Jefferson condos, according to a report in the Port Times Record.

The village owns the parcel and hopes to implement the covenant to quell possible future development. According to the report, Mayor Margot Garant recently said the village hopes to preserve the space for a garden or open space and some "active recreational use".

The land is currently zoned Central Commercial, or C-1. Click here for the full report on the Port Times Record.
