Snow removal planned for Main Street in Kings Park and St. James for Wednesday night is cancelled due to snowy forecast.

Update: According to the town's website, the street closings for Wednesday evening on Main Street in Kings Park and St. James have been postponed due to the forecasted snow storm.

The Town of Smithtown announced via its website Tuesday that Main Street in Smithtown would be closed Tuesday night into Wednesday morning for snow removal.

The town made the announcement at 1 p.m. that the road would be closed from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., or until the removal is completed. The snow removal will include the sidewalks and street.

Main Streets in Kings Park and St. James will be closed Wednesday at 9 p.m. to Thursday at 6 a.m., or until completion, for the same snow removal process.

Hey Vecchio, you demented putz. My neighbors and I dug our street out all day Saturday and Sunday while you and your Highway Supervisor sat on youe collective butts. Now, today, 4 days after the blizzard, you send your plow trucks to neighborhoods that don't need plowing and you plow the snow back into our driveways. What a stupid thing to do.Did you take lessons from GW Bu$h or the LIPA executives. Don't you think that it's time for you to resign. Take a much needed vacation at a nursing home. You just lost yourself the next election.

They called off the cleanup for St James and Kings Park last night because of the "forecasted snow storm"? First of all, there was none and secondly, they only forecast an inch or two. Are the highway guys such primadonnas that they can't operate their equipment in an inch or two of snow? No wonder they didn't come out when it was really snowing on Friday night.

Have dave if the hwy had cleaned st. James and kings park and it had snowed more than they had forecasted say 6 inches what would you have said then when all the trucks would have been hauling snow. What is the difference if the towns were done Wednesday night or Thursday night. Just another reason to Bitch about something.

Well I guess that if we had some unexpectedly heavy snow while the clean up was going on, someone in the Highway Department would have been smart enough to stop the clean up and get the trucks out plowing and sanding. So I don't think it would have been a real big problem.

Ok it might not have been a Hugh problem if it happend. Worst case they would have been a few hours behind and rush hour could have been a mess. But then you would have been able to call them unprepared again which would have proved yourself right in your own mind again.
