What Questions Do You Have for the Town and State Candidates?

Patch will try to find your answers.

Clearly, people have questions for the candidates running for President, Senate, and Congress. But what about the more local races?

There is a contested race for the State Assembly's 4th District between incumbent Steve Englebright (D-Setauket) and Republican challenger Deborah McKee. And there is a special election for Brookhaven town supervisor, in which Suffolk Legis. Ed Romaine (R-Center Moriches) and town chief-of-staff Brian Beedenbender (D-Centereach) are running against each other.

What, if anything, are the SHORT TERM plans to fix the crippling traffic in our area? I'm not interested in the plan for 347 in 2035 when we all drive flying cars. And no amount of paperwork will convince me that bus and bike lanes will make cars magically disappear. It seems like the only ideas anyone had were more shopping centers, more traffic lights, and more red light cameras.

When are the Monday/Thursday garbage pickup homes going to get to switch with the Tuesday/Friday homes. After 20+ years it would be nice to switch so the other homes can get stuck with no holiday pickups for a change
