Stony Brook Seawolves – A Job Well Done

Brief congratulations to Stony Brook University's baseball team on qualifying for the College World Series.

Congratulations to Stony Brook University's baseball team on defeating seventh ranked L.S.U. in the Super Regional Tournament two games to one.  The series with L.S.U.  included a classic match up before rain suspended play.  This team which  won fifty games in the regular season is the first team to reach this level of play in the history of the university.  St. Johns University, in Queens, NY, qualified in 1980.  This is a gritty team that hangs on and knows how to play baseball.  Their line up is chock full of sluggers and the pitching staff is very hard to hit offering a variety of fastball pitchers and breaking ball hurlers. A number of the players on this year's team have been drafted by major league teams in the recent MLB draft.

This is quite an accomplishment for the Seawolves and they are well deserving of our support as they head for the world series which will be played in Omaha.  Go Seawolves.
