A New Genealogy Service at the Port Jefferson Free Library

Read about the new and exciting service the Port Jefferson Free Library is offering.

Genealogy is the study of families and the tracing of their lineages and history. Renewed interest in the pursuit of family history has led the Living Heritage Project  offer this new and fun service to our patrons.

Genealogy is fast becoming a popular hobby thanks to Ancestry.com and the TV show, Who Do You Think You Are?. We have partnered with local resident, Karen Buxton, who is volunteering her time to help patrons of the with their family search, whether they be experts or beginners.

If you are interested in this new service, please contact the Adult Reference desk to leave your name, phone number and availability and we will set up a time mutually agreed upon by you and our volunteer.
