Port Jefferson and the surrounding communities were hit hard by the strong winds and storm surge of Hurricane Sandy. Port Jefferson Free Library's Our Living Heritage is interested in documenting the events and the aftermath of this powerful storm. Photos and videos will be posted on the library's Flickr and YouTube accounts and will also be utilized in a digital display on the Heritage floor.
Did you take photos or videos of the storm? If you are interested in participating you may email them along with your name, when the photo/video was taken, the location, as well as a brief description to firstname.lastname@example.org. If you are unable to email them you may bring them in to the Adult Reference Desk. For more information please call the library at 473-0022.
We encourage all to participate. It is important for us to document events like this because history doesn’t just happen in the past, we are living it now.
