Comsewogue Board of Ed Weighs Options for Filling Trustee Seat

Comsewogue school board Trustee Lance Brown is resigning from the board.

The Comsewogue Board of Education is deciding on how to fill exiting board trustee Lance Brown's spot, who is expecting to resign at the Sept. 9 meeting.

According to a report on the Port Times Record, Brown had said he would officially resign from the school board when he and his wife sold their house. The story went on to say that Brown and his wife are in the process of closing on the house this month.

Brown was re-elected in 2012, leaving nearly two years remaining on his term. According to the story, the board can either appoint someone, leave the seat empty or hold a special election, which board president John Swenning, said would be too costly.
