Don't Miss: Port Jeff Faces Off on 'The Challenge'

Cable show matches up high school students in academic competition.

After defeating Smithtown West in the second round of The Challenge, Port Jefferson High School faces off in the third round on Monday night against East Hampton in the high school quiz show.

One of 48 teams left in the tri-state tournament, the Royals were originally joined by 31 other schools from Suffolk County as they progress through the Regional Rounds in trying to qualify for the Tri-State Championship Playoffs.

Monday's matchup will be aired at 6:30 p.m.

The team is represented by: Gabriel Davis, Zachary Graziano (Captain), Alberto Rescia, Jonathan Chun, (Alternates) Leah Neiman and Eric Kilgore. The academic advisor is Laurie McMillen.

The winner of the tri-state championship will receive $10,000 and each student in the final championship game will receive $500. The Challenge is shown Sunday through Friday throughout the season on channel 14 on Cablevision.
