The Long Island Islanders got a special treat when students from the Edna Louise Spear Elementary School select choir performed at the Nassau Coliseum. The entire team stood and watched the performance, which might have given them that extra boost they needed to win.

The Islands took home a victory that night against the Philadelphia Flyers 4-3.

The students were lead by music teacher Lisa Scrom.

Our children looked professional and sounded terrific. I'm sure that their singing between the second and third period helped the Islanders erase the 3 to 1 deficit and win the game in OT. We had over 250 Port Jeff fans at the game. Mr. Meehan
