Elementary Students Support Parish Outreach Program With Food Drive

Infant Jesus Roman Catholic Church was the beneficiary of a student government project.

Students representing the Edna Louise Spear Elementary School student government recently held a food and toiletries collection as part of the annual Scraggy Olympics.

The food and toiletries drive benefited the food pantry at Infant Jesus R.C. Church in Port Jefferson.

“Our mission is to try and make a difference around us in any way we can, starting with our small ‘world’ – meaning what occurs in and around our school. We also want to make a difference in the bigger ‘world,’ the community we live in, and lastly, the entire world around us,” said Michele Smith, who advises the student government along with Dana St. Pierre.
