Letter: Seeking Volunteers For Port Jeff School's Budget Advisory Committee

The school board is looking for community members to work with the Budget Advisory Committee for the 2012-2013 school year budget.

The Pot Jefferson Union Free School District’s Board Finance Committee, commissioned by the Board of Education on July 5, 2011, is looking for in-district citizens to serve on a Budget Advisory Committee (BAC). In order to create a diverse committee with a broad range of competencies and perspectives, all members of the community are welcome to apply.

The BAC will be responsible for reviewing budget propositions from the administration, and providing advice and recommendations that the administration and the Board may use to present an appropriate 2012-2013 school year budget to the public in May. The committee typically meets on a weekday evening at least once per month, but the frequency may increase as needed.

If you are interested in serving on this important committee, please submit your credentials (i.e. financial or other experience, resume, CV, etc.) to the districtclerk@portjeff.k12.ny.us by August 31 for consideration. Alternatively you may call the district clerk, Janice Baisley, at 631-476-4404 ext 8. All submissions will be reviewed by the Board’s Finance Committee and a kickoff meeting will be scheduled for late September.
