Local Teen Rocks the Stage With Green Day Tune [Watch]

Amanda Daly performed "21 Guns" by the punk rockers for Middle School Talent Show.

After getting by on Matt Luca's version of "Tom Sawyer" by Rush at the Port Jefferson Middle School Talent Show, we were sent this video of Amanda Daly performing "21 Guns" by punk rockers, Green Day.

With just her voice and an electro-acoustic guitar, Daly picked out her solo take of the song inspiring the crowd to clap along to the performance at one point.

Daly is no stranger to having her performances show to Patch readers. We captured her when he performed with her father at the Port Jefferson Farmers Market a couple of years ago.

On March 1, Daly joined 30 other performers and crewmembers at the annual Port Jefferson Middle School Talent Show to benefit Port Jefferson-based non profit Friends of Karen. According to a statement released by the school, the organization "works to provide emotional, financial and advocacy support for children with a life-threatening illness and their families in order to help keep them stable, functioning and able to cope."

She also performed at the Highline Ballroom in New York City on Sunday where School of Rock Port Jefferson took the honor of Best School of Rock School among other awards. Click here for a video of the school band playing the first place-winning song.
