Photo of the Day: Students Collect Coats For Those in Need

Students set up bins around Port Jefferson Middle School and collected gently used coats.

students in the Environmental Club launched a coat drive this year, collecting gently used coats from bins they had set up around the school. The students collected the coats from bins and prepared them for delivery to One Warm Coat, a national non-profit that assists in the donation of coats with the help of their club advisor, Nancy Bachety. According to a statement by the school, the coat drive went along with the club’s mantra to "reduce, ruse and recycle."
