Mt. Sinai School District Superintendent Enrico Crocetti said in an announcement that the Middle and Elementary Schools were both with out power as of Thursday morning forcing both to be closed for the day.
Some Middle School students had already been picked up but will be turned around at the school building and returned home.
Crocetti also made special mention that Kindergarden will be cancelled as well.
The High School will be in session as normal on Thursday.
